Dr Angelica Kavouni

Dr Angelica Kavouni MD graduated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece and completed her doctoral thesis PhD on “Growth hormone and wound healing”.

She then continued her postgraduate studies at Bristol University, UK on a scholarship from the Erasmus European Institute. After graduating she trained in plastic surgery in London NHS Hospitals becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS Eng).

Following her certification by the European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery EBOPRAS she specialised in cosmetic surgery as a fellow of London’s Institute of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery under Mr Dai Davies and then spent a few years working as an associate cosmetic plastic surgeon to Mr Jan Stanek at Surgical Aesthetics.

She has achieved a Diploma in Aesthetic surgery from the University of Queen Mary, London. She was an Associate Specialist for HIV & Lipoatrophy at St. Stephen’s Centre, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust between September 2005 and March 2013.

Dr Angelica Kavouni is on the UK General Medical Council specialist register in Plastic Surgery (reg. 4002006)

Her surgical practice is based just off Harley Street in London and she works closely with SYMMETRIA, an international skin and plastic surgery clinic based in Athens and Bahrain.

Her latest research collaboration and publications are on the subject of labiaplasty and has contributed book chapters on this subject.

Dr Kavouni has filmed for a number of TV shows: Embarrassing Bodies, Extreme Makeover, Make Me Beautiful and Dr Christian Will See You Now. She has appeared regularly in the press including: The Times, The Evening Standard and Marie Claire.

Dr kavouni says: As a surgical fellow I have been fascinated by the art of plastic and cosmetic surgery. It represented an excellent way of blending the aesthetic principles of the Hellenic cultural heritage with modern medicine! However I feel that cosmetic procedures are not to be taken lightly. There is a lot of responsibility and a great challenge to create individualised, natural results. It can be a life-changing experience but only when it is performed for the right reasons!

Dr Kavouni is married to fellow surgeon Mr Lucion Ion and is the busy mother of two teenage boys. Angelica manages to find time to enjoy yoga, tennis and winter skiing as as a spot of watercolour painting. She supports The Scar Free Foundation, Bloodwise and The Anglo Hellenic League.
